A friend of mine is putting together a book of adoption stories.

Here is her request for stories:

“One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.  On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.  They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness.  They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.”  Psalm 145:4-7
As Christians, we serve a mighty, awesome God.  David says in Psalm 144 “O Lord, what is man that you regard him, or the son of man that you think of him?  Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.”  Yet we know God does regard us.  He created man in His image.  He hears our prayers.  He makes a way where there seems to be no way.  He loves us while we are yet sinners.  He is faithful even when we are not.
Adoption has been a gift God has given our family.  We have seen God work in amazing and new ways.  He answered our prayers and blessed us with a beautiful little boy from China who has changed our lives forever.  Before finishing our post adoption reports, we started the process over to adopt another little boy from China.  Amazing!  I am in awe of what God has done.
The adoption process is complicated.  The paperwork, the waiting, the inspections, the waiting, the training, the waiting—-all working for the purpose of uniting us with our child.  Did I mention the waiting?  Whether domestic or international, the waiting can be excruciatingly long.  Then there is the tiny word with big implications, FEAR.  Fear of the unknown.  Fear of experiencing what others experienced.  Fear of not experiencing what others experienced.  Fear of not having what you need when you need it.  Fear of the day you meet your child.  Fear of not ever meeting your child.  FEAR, it’s a part of this process.  The road of adoption is not an easy one.  However, those who have gone before know it is well worth it.  We come out on the other end knowing God in a more intimate way; having experienced His plan in such a personal way.
The Bible says in Psalms 145 that ‘they’ will speak of His greatness, awesome deeds, pouring forth the fame of His abundant goodness.  I want to do that but I need your help.  I need your stories of what God has done for you and through you during your adoption process.  I want to put together a book (entitled Declaring His Greatness) that shows how mighty God is.  I will be dividing the stories to follow the international adoption process.  I will also include a domestic adoption section.
My hope is that God will use this book to encourage others to adopt and encourage those who are working to adopt.  I also want my sons to one day know and see that they were part of a bigger plan.  That God was moving and working in their lives, even before they were born, to prepare for them a home where they could know God.  This was no random act of separation.  No pain they experienced was without purpose.  There was no time where they were abandoned (at least not by God).  God was fully in control.  He knew where they would be, what they would need and He has provided.
If you want to share in this and you are willing to tell your story, please forward it to http://www.tellthechildren@gmail.com .  I have set up this email specifically for this.  I will do my best to respond to each email quickly.  If you would like to know more about me before participating, please just email and ask.  You are welcome to use scripture and, please, feel free to give God all the glory.  I can’t wait to hear what God has done in all of your lives.  –Lisa

The proceeds from the book will go to an orphan ministry like Love Without Boundaries and for her newly adopted sons hearing aid.
