Local - Vision

Be the difference you want to see in the world. – Mahatma Ghandi

We see this as one of the most important parts (perhaps the most important part) of this web site. Here in our own families, neighborhoods, and communities we can make a difference. When you commit to live a life of giving, amazing things can happen. I recently read of a man who transormed his life by asking people, on a regular basis: "what can I do to help you?"

We ask that question now: "what can we do to help you or people you know?" We want our community to be one of love and support for each other and our neighbors. Do you know of a family with a car in the shop and a need for a ride to work? Or a broken washing machine and a pile of laundry they could get done at one of our houses? We believe that opening our lives and homes to meet these "small" needs expresses a love and acceptance that changes lives and creates relationships of eternal value.

Our mission is to create awareness that leads to action. Part of that is awareness of the extreme poverty and plight of orphans in far removed parts of the world. But just as important is living in awareness and taking action to provide love and comfort to those just down the street. Help us create awareness that leads to action right here at home. We would love to know about opportunities to help or give... and we'll also seek your help in meeting these needs. Click this link to our forum titled Local Projects to create a "NEW TOPIC" for posts and responses to these needs. A membership to this site is required to post to the forum. Become a member at this link. Once we are informed of the need, we will do our best to meet them within our community.

About - KnownToMe

We have begun to ask ourselves...What would we do if our neighbor was starving right before our eyes? Would we not help? Today, their plight is not hidden from us. It is known. We believe there is a clear mandate that we must care for societies most vulnerable members, the widow, the orphan, those in extreme poverty. If you are stirred to a similar belief, if you know there is more that you must do,
Known To Me will make you aware of specific needs and opportunities to help.
